Neurosciences at the UW

Revised july 1999.

Neurosciences at the UW are dispersed over two dozen departments, multiple graduate programs, many research groups, and hundreds of individuals. As they get up and running with Web pages, they will be listed here -- but this does not pretend to be a comprehensive listing of what and who. Like the internet itself, this list is merely a fortuitous, self-organizing anarchy. A quick web route to local e-mail addresses is via UW phone book or the Society for Neuroscience membership directory.

If it is Graduate Study that you're interested in: you may wish to apply to several Ph.D. programs at the UW simultaneously, as there is considerable overlap in the neuro disciplines. It's best to consult with a faculty member in your area of interest, well before the application deadlines, and ask if there is a second program to which you ought to apply.

Physiology/Biophysics Weekly bulletin
is a good source of seminar announcements.

VIRTUAL POSTERS have already started. Post your abstract; then post the poster (or talk) itself, when it is ready, by adding on to that web page. You can also use Adobe Acrobat for posters on the web; see Dan Gardner's example.

  • Want a [NEW!] link added? The easy part is just to e-mail me: WCalvin@U.Washington.edu. The hard part is to first create a web page, test it out, and flesh it out with enough stuff so as to be worth a second visit. Those at the UW don't have to worry about creating a web server; to see how, just visit the faculty.washington.edu page.

There is a free notification service that will tell you when this web page is updated.
